Blast cladding: secured facades in UHPC

Scope of intervention

Design, manufacturing and on-site assembly of FClad cladding panels in ultra-high-performance fiber-reinforced concrete.

Structural resistance

The fiber-reinforced concrete is strengthened with metallic or synthetic fibers that considerably improve its resistance to shocks, impacts and mechanical stresses. This characteristic allows it to better absorb and dissipate the energy resulting from an explosion, thus reducing structural damage.

Reduced debris projection

During an explosion, UHPC has the capacity to maintain its structural integrity thanks to its high mechanical resilience, which limits the formation of dangerous debris. Less fragment projection reduces the risk of injury to people nearby.

Crack control

The fibers present in the concrete increase its toughness, giving it the capacity to better control cracking. This ability to limit crack propagation maintains structural integrity after an explosion, thus contributing to overall safety.
